Are you just starting to learn English? If you have little or no experience with the language, our Absolute Beginners ESL course is perfect for you. Even though English is spoken all over the world, we understand that some of you may not have had much chance to practice yet. This course is designed to give you a strong start.

If you already have some exposure to English, we suggest trying our Beginner Complete ESL course instead. It may be better suited for you if you are familiar with some basic concepts.

Our Absolute Beginners course consists of 100 lessons, divided into four main areas: Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading and Writing, and Listening and Repetition exercises. We have also included comprehension reviews throughout the program to help you fully understand each section before moving on to the next set of lessons.

The content of the 4 Study Areas:

Grammar:

  • Basics of English Grammar: Introduction to the fundamental rules and structures of English grammar.
  • Sentence Structure: Teaching simple sentence construction, focusing on subject-verb-object order.
  • Parts of Speech: Basic understanding of nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs, and their roles in sentences.
  • Tense Introduction: Simple present and past tense forms and usage.
  • Question Formation: How to form basic questions in English.
  • Practical Exercises: Simple exercises for applying grammatical rules in writing and speaking.

Vocabulary:

  • Common Words and Phrases: Introduction to frequently used English words and phrases relevant to everyday situations.
  • Numbers, Days, and Time: Learning basic numbers, days of the week, months, and time-telling.
  • Colors, Shapes, and Sizes: Vocabulary related to describing objects.
  • Family and Relations: Words for family members and basic relationships.
  • Food and Drink: Common vocabulary for food items and drinks.
  • Interactive Games: Games and activities to reinforce vocabulary learning.

Reading and Writing:

  • Alphabet and Phonics: Familiarization with the English alphabet and basic phonetic sounds.
  • Simple Reading Exercises: Reading simple texts like labels, signs, and short paragraphs.
  • Basic Writing Skills: Practice writing letters of the alphabet, names, and simple words.
  • Forming Sentences: Exercises in writing basic sentences.
  • Reading Comprehension: Simple exercises to enhance understanding of read material.
  • Writing Personal Information: Practice writing basic personal information like name, address, and age.

Listen and Repeat Exercises:

  • Pronunciation Practice: Basic exercises focusing on the pronunciation of English sounds and words.
  • Listening to Dialogues: Listening to simple dialogues or sentences and repeating them.
  • Songs and Rhymes: Using simple songs and rhymes to improve listening and speaking skills.

  • Role-Play Exercises: Engaging in basic role-play scenarios to practice listening and speaking.
  • Phonetic Drills: Exercises focusing on problematic sounds and intonations in English.
